OK, well right now my jeeps steering is down the drain. I've installed an RE HD Track bar and frame brace, Durango Stering box with frame stiffener and my steering wheel has play from side to side up to a half a turn! My possible problems I can come up with are:

A) RE Track bar spherical joint is bad and needs to be replaced
B) Durango Steering box has to much play in it, altough this problem wasn't
there when I first put it on.
C) My TRE's are shot and are moving around causing the serious dead spot.

I want to replace the steering anyway so while I go check out options A & B whats you guys vote on a new steering setup?

I've narrowed it down to three from what I can see will probably work.

1) V8 Grand Cherokee Swap
- Probably the cheapest, however, I want to replace the whole
thing so that would mean all new TRE's for it.

2) Rugged Ridge Steering
- I can get it for only 165 shipped to my door however, with the
dead spot in steering the inverted T-setup creates is it even worth
the gamble for the price.

3) Iron Rock Off Road OTK Steering -350

It's twice as much as the others however at this point I'm starting to
think it's worth the money.

Thanks for the help you guys

#3 do it and don't look back.

I just installed it and absolutely love it. Best steering I've had to date.

Plus no more TRE's!!!

Seriously, it's worth the extra coin.

When you get it you'll understand why.

is your jeep lifted? if it is are you running a drop pitman arm? I have a similar problem, my steering sucks and I have heard a lot of good things about the Offroad-Only U-turn steering. Its an expensive set up but it will put your steering setup back to a stock spec. It raises the point of contact on the hub so you can re-instal the stock pitman arm. I haven't installed it myself but its on my list for the summer.

Yeah, I've pretty much decided that's what I'm going to do. Did you have to get a drop pit man arm with it? I'm currently sitting at around 4.5"

id look at ballistics kit as well. requires a little work but seems to be more durable to me and it $70-80 cheaper than IRO. that was my reasoning for ordering from ballistic
