Vacuum lines

90 Wagoneer Limited - There is a large vacuum harness on the front of the engine, kind of beside the airbox. What exactly does it do, and is there a way to get rid of it. Would really like to clean up the engine bay a little bit. Looks like one of the lines runs to a sensor on the fender, but then it loops back into the harness on the engine. Anysuggestions on removal? Thanks.....

You need it--EGR valve, EGR solenoid/EVAP Purge, transducer vacuum valve, CCV system, MAP, thermostatic valve in the air box, and the charcoal canister.

So, no, you can't get rid of it.

It is a two-piece harness, and if you need to replace it they run about $23.99 each piece at NAPA. You could BUILD your own harness out of vacuum hose/tubing, as some have done.
