vehicle speed sensor question

hello, i have searched on here and also my service manuals but havent found the answer im lookin for. im trying to find what the output signal from the VSS is. any ideas?

It should be one of the wires from the transmission to TCU bundle. What year, tranny, etc

well its a 97 ax15. i dont need to know what wire, i need the pulse per revolution or pulse per mile. i wanna use the ax15 mated upto a possible LS1 and i dont want to use the 4.0 ecm just to run the speedo.

So you want the speedo signal? That is a separate signal from a speedo sender on the transfer case (or on the tranny if it's 2WD).

The speedo sender changed a couple of times over the years and I don't have an FSM for yours so I will leave it be

Well for starters a AX15 behind a LS1 will be a short but crunchy relationship. The factory setup would have 3 wires, Ground, 5v in and signal back to the computer.
