Engine for a 2001 XJ

Have a cracked 0331 cylinder head and low oil pressure in my 01 XJ.

I found the crack in the head by using a coolant system pressure tester, With the Valve cover removed. Could not see the crack but could see green coolant after applying pressure to the cooling system. Leak is between 3 and 4 cylinders.

Would like to find a replacement engine. Will an engine from a 02 or newer wrangler or Grand Cherokee work without a lot of modification. Or other suggestions would be appreciated.

I have read all posts I could find! still would like to know if later (4002 and newer) engine will bolt in.

I think not. There are many posts. I know that Talyn has posted quite a bit about engine swaps and seems to be very knowledable. I searched for posts by Talyn and the words "engine swap" and got a ton of threads. In the tread I linked to below, Talyn has linked to another site with apparantly a list of engine differences.
