Just pulled this out of my XJ and I've never seen one designed quite like this before. Being an ASE tech, I've seen quite my share of thermostats, too!

Well I never really had a problem with the thermostat, just wanted to replace it due to maintenance. However, I only put a $5 auto zone stat in it. Would you guys recommend I put this FlowKooler one back in?

Stant SuperStat Premium 195 degree--that is all I install and all I recommend.

It's a Robertshaw, not a FlowKooler. Flowkooler is a brand of water pump. I've always had good luck with Stant SuperStats. They're stainless steel........have a 180F SuperStat in the XJ right now.
