ok so i have asked a lot of questions about my t-case so far here is another.
previously i inqured about a horrific popping/banging noise, accompanied by my jeep jerking around when it was in 4wd.
now i know not to put in 4wd on the street at all.... but i am pretty sure the damage was done before that.
now both drive shafts are removed, and when i turn the front output by hand(case in "N") i can hear the chain slapping against the bottom of the case.
my question is this, if i buy a new chain, will i be ok, or is it likely that the gears are shot too?
i havnt pulled it apart yet, but what should i look out for, is it even worth my time to re-build it? i am going to do a 231 crawl box, and would like to not have to buy 2 new(to me) t-cases.
