The xj was an auto, so should be 3.54. I think the mj was too, but can't remember. the mj's d44 was missing a few parts

Missing brakes and axle shafts. I didn't look inside of it though. The XJ D44 appeared to be complete though

That MJ is definately missin the axle shafts and the brake drums. Ask me how I know? Lol
I hid the brake drums in a import
ill send u on an adventrue if u like

nope just know someone looking for an MJ 44 but if its cannibalized there is really no point in spending all day in the sun to get it.

MORE Dana 44 on Comanche @ Ecology Santa Fe Springs
Just got back from S.F.S. Ecology (March 29, '10)
Several earlier Cherokees and THREE COMANCHE'S. All have tailgates but the most interesting is the loaded RED one. Long bed, factory camper cover, front tow hooks, rear hitch, full console with blocked off P.B. slot, 4x4.
Oh and a Dana 44 out back. I'd been out in the sun too long by the time I found it and didn't check the year, sorry.
And who was there with the caged white XJ? The rear drivers quarter window was blocked off and the interior cage wasn't painted yet.

the one in wilmington had 2 MJ's AND i believe they both had tailights.
