Need info on rear drive shaft lenghts

I swapped the 35 for a 8.25 in my 90. So yesterday I went wheeling and my DS kept falling out of the T case. I used the DS from the 8.25 not my 35 DS and I guess it's too short. Any ideas if there is a DS that is a pinch longer? I am afraid to use the DS from the 35 since it is a full inch longer and I don;t want it to bottom out on the t case. Also it's a 2dr and the 8.25 shaft is from a 4dr I dunno if that makes a difference.

The four variables are:

D35 vs 8.25/D44
manual vs automatic
2WD vs 4WD tranny
transfer case output style (mid-96 breakpoint)

If you lifted the jeep you need to measure the vertical and horizontal distance between u-joints and calculate for length then find one that matches.

In a nut shell the 5 speed had a DS that was a tad longer, while the 4 banger had one that was even longer.

Yes I forgot to mention I am lifted about 4"....Thanks for the info.

I am going to measure how far into my t case my yoke is engaged and see if that will provide any more info.
