My no start experience

Jeepsloth

Gort like Jeep
Location
North Carolina
1995, 4.0, AX-15

The other day the spouse drove one of the Jeeps, she called at work and said she was in a parking lot and the Jeep wouldn't start. :bawl:

I got the Jeep to the house and began the process.

Jeep would crank
Battery voltage was 12.01
Fuel pressure at fuel rail
No spark (pulled plug cranked it over)
verified that the rotor was turning
verified the condition of the Crank Position Sensor with a meter (pin B and C)
Checked the voltage at the Harness Connector at the coil while cranking, 12 volts present

After reading my FSM I determined that if the crank and camshaft position sensor are working you will get 12 volts to the coil (is this correct?) so if there is no spark the likely culprit is the coil itself.

Anyway I replaced the coil and it started right up.

hope this helps
