D44 truetrac question

So I wheeled the jeep for the first time since I've lifted it and had a blast, just a few questions about some possible issues I have.

My truetrac in my rear D44 was making a sort of popping sound. I was on a rock obstacle trying to go over it, and I was putting some strain on the rear when I was going on an incline. It only did it when I was trying to go over the large rock, putting a lot of stress on the rear. It didn't do any other time and it worked just fine. It almost sounded like a park pawl in a transmission, when you put it park from drive without pushing the brake. So I'm assuming it can't be anything else except that.
