Looks to me like someone swapped in the console from a 97+ XJ. You can tell by the slightly jagged cut lines towards the front of the console. It looks just like the one in my 98 minus the 5spd manual.

Looks like a stock 97+ to me. Police Package I believe usually came with a mini console and/or column shifter, since police vehicles need all the console space for a radio/light control rack.

it is, had a 98 w/ manual. although it's missing the ashtray lid, which i have an extra one, could sell ya... :shhh:

yeah just looks like a 97+ console to me. the shifter boot/cover looks a little more "plastic" than the 97+ ones ive owned, so im guessing its original from that year (96 style). wheres the ebrake? or is that a mj..

Interersting...the e-brake is a pedal, not a lever...see the release?
I've seen this setup before in MJs and XJs with the column shift - but I don't recall ever seeing one with a manual transmission. Interesting.
