Ball Joint Replacement

I have an 89 XJ with a 6.5 inch lift. I've replaced everything in the front end except the lower ball joints. They have 217,000 miles on them and are factory joints. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to replace these?

They don't owe you anyting at 217k. That is a nice long life for those joints. Mine started to fail at 130k on my 99 daily driver.

If you replace them, go with brand name stuff. Stay away from "el-cheapo" joints; you get what you pay for here.

i would deff recommend replacing them. I just did all four of my ball joints and replace them with XRF Joints. They are supposed to be some of the strongest joints available. They are used in the logging trucks in Alaska. you will have to order through there website. good luck
