balljoint issue

So i just came in after spending way too long on my driver side lower balljoint, basically its in all the way, but on one side it is off by a hair and i cant get the snap ring on it. I have pressed and pressed and pressed, and hammered etc, but everything that i have tried is not working. what should i do? would a small stitch weld be ok?

one problem with welding it in is that it obviously isnt seated properly and you may have problems getting the nuckle to line up right and turn without binding?

Put tension on the ball joint with a press and hammer on the inner c with a bfh. It should release some of the tension that the ball joint is holding.

Pull it out, check for burrs or foreign debris, reinstall?

You might try cleaning of the surface where the snap ring goes.... if there is enough buildup it will keep it from going in.
