I received my reconditioned 19lb Mustang injectors this week and went to put them in yesterday. The truck ran fine before I replaced the old injectors but, after reading about the potential fire hazard the Bendix/Deka injectors were, I wanted to replace them. I put in the Mustang injectors and the truck would idle ok but miss/backfired a lot when I took her for a test drive. I went about 3 miles and dropped the old injectors back in. I put new O-rings on them and epoxied the body at the seam so they should be fine now. My question is what happened? I would guess I got one (if not more) bad injectors out of the box? The Mustang injectors are direct plug and play, correct?
