I found a 1988 cherokee for 300.00 and I think they came with dana 44 rear. How much work is involed in the swap...thanks steven

if it truely is a d44 i should basically bolt right in! were talking a compact 5 lug cherokee not a large 6 lug cherokee cheif right?

Took me about 2 hours to swap my D44 in taking my time. Make sure you hit all the hardware with PB blaster for about a week.

Yeah, make sure it's really a 44, it might well be a 35 under there.
