Quick question. On the 1999 gauge cluster is the low fuel light locates on the far left by the fuel gauge or is it to the left of your parking brake light?

Between the fuel gauge and the parking brake light on a 97 (aren't the 97+ gauges the same, excluding the "certified"/police XJs?).

No battery in mine tonight so I can't check, but my 99 owner's manual shows it far left in the fuel gauge.

Not all 97+ gauge clusters are the same. I think in 2000 they put it to the far left of the fuel gauge and put the trunk open light where it was. However, I'm not sure about that. Could have been 99.

My 98 has the low fuel light in the lower left corner to the left of the fuel gauge. Not all clusters are the same. A cluster without full instrumentation (i.e. gigantic fuel gauge) does not have a low fuel light.....at least the one on the 01 Sport I swapped out didn't.

So maybe 98 was the year for the change over.
