Ok so my front pinion seal leaks. not a lot but enough thats its always wet. is there anything i need to know or things i should avoid doing?

I heard the pinion nut should be torqued to 210lbs. is there a crush sleeve i need to replace as well?

Any help would be great. thanx

84-99 (high pinion D30) use shims for bearing preload instead of a crush sleeve like later low pinion D30's. Pull the yoke and inspect it for wear, maybe use a little scotch brite to clean it up. After installing the new seal make sure the inner seal spring didn't come out and then reinstall the yoke using maybe a dab of RTV under the nut.

I'd go with a 6 point, it's only a 6 point nut.
