Is there a seal between the transfercase and transmission?

I have a 90 cherokee 4.0 aw4 and 231 transfercase. I had to replace my transfercase due to my old one blowing up. I wanted to know Is there a seal or any gasket that goes between the transfercase and transmission?

As has been said, there is no seal "in common" to the two units.

The transmission output seal rides on the outside of the transfer case input shaft.

The transfer case input seal rides on the outside of the transfer case input shaft, about a half-inch or so away.

However, you do not want to seal the area in between - there is a small gap at the bottom that needs to be preserved. This is to allow fluid to drip, so you can spot a leak from either of those seals if it happens.
