4.0 cam

i am planning on bilding a high reving 4.0 for mud it will have bigger throtle body header diferent injectors and so on i was wondering if the crane 753941 cam would be a good choice for this engine and if not what would be.

That cam would be too big. Go for the smaller Crane 753905 and increase the CR to 9.4:1 by shaving 0.030" off the head and using the thinner Mopar/Victor head gasket. Remember to shim the rocker arm bridges with the 0.030" shims from Crane's 99179-1 shim kit to restore lifter preload.
 
Don't most strokers bring your compression up to the 9.2-9.4 realm allready? After taking a stroked xj for a drive, I'm convinced that if your gonna have the motor apart, be wise and build it stroked. after that drive I've been doing all the reading I can on strokers. Alot of guys have done a crapload of homework on it. Especially those in the stroker group over at yahoo groups.
