86 XJ 2.5 not charging

Hi everyone,

My 86 XJ has been sitting for about 1 and a half years.
I got it running and noticed it is not charging.
I tried another alternator but it didn't help.
It is reading less than 12 volts at the battery with a multimeter but the charging light in the dash does not come on. (None of the dash lights come on when the key is turned on like they are supposed to)
Also the turn signals don't work (could this be related to the charging problems?)

Everything was fine before I parked anyone have any ideas?

Start with the basics--fully charge and load test the battery.

Clean both ends of the cables, and test them with an ohm meter--should be about zero ohms.

If that doesn't help, have the alternator tested.
