T-Stat hole?

what exactly is the lil hole with a brass piece in the T-stat for or do??? some Stats have top or this side up!
what if mine does not,
should i REALLY be concerned about where i put the hole (up/down)?
just as long as T-stat is in the correct way,RITE!

Are you talking about the little jiggle valve? If so, then it is to break up the air bubbles. The reason that it is supposed to be up is because bubbles rise to the top. If that is not the part that you are referring to, then post a pic please.

No that sound correct, HMMM, really sure i put it in on the bottom, damn! haa, imparitive i fix i guess? thanks for you input.

Some thermostats do not have the the little "jiggle ball" just a hole. The hole goes up. The jiggle ball also goes up. It is to allow the air in the system to rise to the top as the system is being filled and purged from the system.
