RPMs but no power

As of my lately my Cherokee has been actin up. When im on the freeway ill be driving along and once the rpms get above 2k it at times rather rev the motor instead of putting power to the rear wheels.

Its a 95 XJ with a 231 t-case and an ax15.

sounds like the friction disc in the clutch is slipping due to a loss of pressure from the pressure plate. replace friction disc, pressure plate, and throwout bearing. you may need to resurface flywheel as well. if you have internal slave cylinder replace that while you have the transmission out

Agree, sounds like the clutch is toast.
