I was wondering if i could replace them with outer knuckles from a 98?

You'll probably have to change calipers to match the knuckles, but as long as you use matched rotors/unit bearings you'll be fine.

ok cool... But just in case it dont fit, does anyone have a spare set of 87-90 knuckles laying around i will pay.

Yes. the 98 knuckles will go on, but you'll want to check the ball joint numbers in case they are different. You'll need the newer style calipers. I'm running 2002 knuckles, brakes and ball joint on an 1988 axle.
