Engine smoke?

Hey all!
93 sport 4x4 4.0HO with 116K. AW4 and all stock.

noticed some seepage from where the head gasket is. i went to check to see if there was frothy looking oil after i finished my ride home (at normal 210 op temp). pulled the oil cap off and white smoke came out. not some amazing amount, but it was definitely there.

i am getting a compression gauge to test from there and inspecting my coolant as soon as well when it is light out.

is the smoke normal though or is it another indicator of impending doom?

thanks!

Are you using any coolant?

Testing is the best way to isolate. Cooling system pressure test, compression test, block test (sniffing coolant for presence of hydrocarbons) and the cylinder leakdown test.

There will always be some combustion byproducts in the crankcase.

How is your CCV system?

With changes in the weather come changes in the level of moisture in the air.

As birchlakeXJ posted above, test, test, test, and test--knowledge = peace of mind.
