a MUST buy for jeepers with stock speakers

great deal amazon is running on these super nice polk 6.5's Will fit the XJ all around. Ordered 2 pair of them for 80 bucks shipped, usually 100 a pair :loveu:

you guys need to jump all over these, if you doubt me look up the reviews on them

yeah i actually have the "cut out" issue going on with my front driver side speaker, gonna take a look at the wiring while im in there to see what the problem is.

all front xj speakers are 5.25"

and up until they started putting speakers in the soundbar/headliner the rears were all 5.25"

I just replaced mine in a 01 XJ and they were all 6.5". Front and rear.

I replaced my passenger side speaker wires. Twice.
Now they work well. Its kind of a pain, but if you have ever run wires before, its no biggie.

maybe its an 00-01 thing?

every xj i has known (up to 99) has the 525's stock in the doors

I've got polks in my Jeep and they were 5.25s as well. Maybe they put the 6.5s in for later model years? :dunno:

ive done a ton of searching and alot of guys put the 6.5's in and fit fine. Not to mention crutchfield recommends these for front speakers for an 01 XJ too :lecture:

yeah im guessing they are fairly thin speakers to fit there, anyway, too good of a deal not to jump on

On my 96 the front and soundbar take 5.25's and said NO! like a Nun to Crack on the 6.5's. -B

I run 6.5's in my 89 stock locations no problems.... Most of the time a 6.5 will fit where a 5.25 was... as long as you have the depth

I have a 1998 and my front are 5.25 and my rear is 3.5... Dont ASK!! Idk why...

Just ordered 2 pairs! I already have a set of these in 5.25 in the back of the jeep. they are nice quality and waterproof! Ive got an OEM soundbar behind the front seats so these will go there and in the doors.
