i may be wrong but i think that is more like 2" of lift

Around 1-1/2". MJ shackles measure about 4-3/8", XJ shackles should be approximately 1-1/2" inches shorter, or around 3".

just curious here but wouldn't your shackle angle play a part in how much lift you would get from a shackle? the more vertical the shackle the more lift the more horizontal of the angle the less lift right?

A vertical lift shackle will lift more than one at 45*. A horizontal shackle will provide no lift.
