Side mirror ?

Do XJ's that come from the factory without a passenger side mirror have an exterior trim piece to cover the holes? Does anyone know where i could get one besides the dealer? Also, is there a version for the drivers side? I took off both mirrors today on my trailer queen. On my last outing i almost ripped one off.... TIA blaise

I don't see an option for any sort of blank cover plate in my 94-96 or 98 parts catalogs. Are you sure it existed?

yes it did. it was renix era late 80s. they did have a small plastic cover for the outside but ive never seen one without drivers side. i believe cars were required to have at least one. might have luck at a salvage yard for finding one. i have the same problem but was thinkin about making some out of 1/8 plate or something
