A little lost

There is a chance we may be relocating to temecula area in a year or two. More specifically Lake Riverside. Going out there this coming weekend to look at the property and scope out stuff. I really have no clue whats out there or if it is even worth going out there. As long as their is a hospital in Temecula, Rose has a job, but what the hell I would do is going to depend on the next year in school.

So whats it like out there guys? Seriously. Would you move there or not? What is there to do? What kind of life is it?

Matt:cheers:

Tried sending you a PM but your box is full.

I have lived in Temecula since 89 and have no complaints. The town continues to grow, crime is low and the they have several schools ( I believe three high schools now). The mall makes getting around town somewhat difficult, but it brings business. The surrounding towns (Murrieta, Wildomar and Menifee) are all good towns as well. If I had a family I would have no problem raising them here. Hope that helps.

Matt why are you looking to relocate there?

I cleaned my box, sorry. Havnt been on a long while.

Rose graduates college pretty soon and her father owns some semi-developed land out east of Temecula. Its 45 mins out of town, but from the maps, Temecula would have to be where the jobs are at. We have the opportunity to finish developing the land and keeping it, which is much cheaper than buying a place here in Ventura. It would mostly be a launch pad per say. A good way to build our own place for much less than buying and good way to start life after school.

We have no reason besides it is something different. It would get us closer to wheeling spots I like and she knows she will like from pics and stuff.

More than anything, just testing the waters. Getting your opinions on the area. We visited Parris and Lake Elsinore for a WeRock a while back and I really like that area.

Probably doesnt make much sense. I guess I am looking for either "hell no" or "eh, its ok and worth checking out" :D

Not to mention, Its a good looking town too. Not sure how the women up there, but im sure there cleaner then the Spring valley grils in used to..

lol I dont have to worry about that. I have a great lady. Good personality and looks! Plus loves the wheeling and speed thus far. Even bought her own JK in preparation for the future :guitar:

Temecula is a great town. There's Inland Valley Regional Medical Center, Rancho Medical Center, etc. If the place is 45 min. east of Temecula- that sounds like it's near the Cahuilla area. Very, very quiet out there. As far as the town goes, Temecula has advanced by leaps and bounds in the last few years. All sorts of shopping centers, restaurants, new schools, and the crime rate is super low. Like everyone said- JeeperJohn lives in Temecula. I spend a lot of time down there as well.

I have worked for a land development company in Temecula for 8 years, and I will tell you the country and city will bleed you dry trying to develop property. They are trying to get people to pay for roads and improvements that are way out of line. You will need to hire a good development manager or the politicians will run you around. Don't make anyone mad or you will never get an approval. It is a very buddy buddy place.

There will be a new hospital in Murrieta by the end of 2010, and Inland Valley is in the process of expanding.
Just my opinion :peace::anon:

Hey Matt, I lived in Camarillo most of my young life. Went to Camarillo HS. Off to college and then down here to San diego for the last 8 years (since 2001).

Having spent time in Ventura county, I can say that parts of san diego are very similar. We live in rural El cajon/Dehesa/Rancho San Diego on an acre and very seldom experience any type of "city issue". We have wonderful neighbors, and both have great jobs. My wife is a teacher and I work for SDG&E. (A job I'd very much recommend, having come from the Architecture field)

I'm not so familiar with temecula, having only visited a few times, but I can very much recommend San Diego. Lots of chances to find your niche, if Temecula doesn't fit.

Matt, Lake Riverside is near Anza and not far from Temecula. The area there is absolutely beutiful. Temecula is still a great place to live and work despite the increased population. There will be a major regional medical center built in Temecula as soon as the damn politicians finish arguing about stupid stuff. It will happen. The recreational opportunities are practically endless in the area. The area you are looking at will be the next big growth area in the region in my opinion. I think you would be very happy with your choice to move out this way. Call me if you want to chat some about it (951) 225-5551.

I just did a Google Earth search. I love that area up there. You are out of the city while still living near enough for it to be convienent.
Anza itself is growing nicely too. Heck, you even have an Indian casino near you. Just about an hour of of Borrego Springs too!

JeeperJohn is right Anza is the next boom...But with 40% of the homes in the county in forcloser developers are sitting on projects.
I am working on lots of parcel splits and maps. I agree it is a great place to live! Just developing land in an area that is dominated by politics, wineries and developers makes the little guy looking for a nice homestead and up hill battle.. I have see people fight Kangaroo rat fees, Water quality isssues and road development issues for as much as 2 years...Then hire the right politican and bam be approved in a matter of weeks??? It is pretty standard to spend about 10,000 in fees just to get a permit... SD County is a lot easier to deal with... There are not as many politics.... PM me if you have any questions about development fees or issues. I can run your apn # and get a ball park figure to develop.

Well, we looked. Said, screw that. lol Thanks for the info guys. We are packing up next week and going to move up to Fresno.

Thanks for the help guys.
