WHAT IS THIS?

On the exhaust manifold for 84-90 xj's what is this hole for and what do I do with it when I put my AEM cold air intake on? The tube that goes to the filter box is already broken and just hangs there, so I want/ mostlikely need to fix it.

The large diameter piece connects to the Thermostatic Air cleaner (on the pass side of the stock air box via a tube
