93 XJ Rusting away

My 93 XJ sits outside 24/7/365. The rocker panels, floor boards, and roof line at the top of the windshield are rusting away quickly. I use the XJ for snow plowing and would like to keep it alive for several more years. It does not need to look pretty, but I need the body to stay in one piece.

Any advice on slowing the rust or repairing the metal is appreciated.

Remove as much of it as you can, then apply a rust converter (like POR-15) on the remaining surface rust, then paint it or hit it with a preventative coating like Boeshield T-9.

If it's that rusty and just a work truck,i'd use a sprayer and some old atf.

Also, if you're not using it for most of the year, keep it covered.

Old school is to brush used motor oil into rust. Don't need ZDDP for that. lol

Hallo. Before you use motor oil or ATF or POR-15 or T-9.

Spray the rust with phosforic acid and clean it with water after a few hours.
Then after drying you can prevent it with mentioned above. :yelclap:
