Welder free lift?

I want to put a little more lift into the rear of my jeep and its currently all apart (Driver side; 4 of 5 leaves broken...Passanger side 3 of 5 broken) I would like to do a bastard pack since I have a set of stock leafs for replacement but it will not sit high enough to bolt up my shocks.

So...How can I make a set of spring clamps for my own bastard pack with simple house tools (Grinder, compressor, blah blah, you get the idea) Also to obtain 3.5" lift how many leaves from an s-10 pack would I have to add?
The previous leafs were a 3" lift leaf and i want to do 3.5 and just add a 1/2" coil spacer for the front.

Not sure on the bastard pack stuff but you can make clamps for the pack using 1/8" or 3/16" bar stock and a vice + hammer + drill + angle grinder.

Excellent! Now that I have the way to make the clamps I just need to know the lift, I already read up on how to make the packs so I'm good there.

XJ main plus all the S-10 leaves except the overload should get about 3.5". Might take a couple test fits and mix/matching to get the exact lift you want.
