99 4.0L into 97 cherokee sport

Would a 4.0L out of a 99 cherokee sport fit into a 97 cherokee sport with no modifications? If not, then what exactly do I have to do to make it work? I appreciate your response in advance, thank you!

Ive never done it but I would assume that since they are the same body style that it would go right it but I could be wrong

yes it will fit, with no modifications...you will probably need the ecu and engine bay wiring harness from the 99, but other than that it will work with no issues...

Physically it will fit. I'm concerned about the connections to the sensors. Will my harness fit the 99 engine?
