Put a cheap pair of fog lights (wide beam lens) and mount them somehow. Turn them on when you back up.

You could stick a halogen bulb in the socket I suppose, I don't know if it would be too long or not though. If you weren't in reverse too long you shouldn't have to worry about melting issues! The housing for the reverse light is rather tiny.

I found 50 watt bulbs that fit a standard socket when I had a bike. You should be able to find some to fit.

Don't those 50 watters melt plastic?

They discolored the lenses I had them in on my bike but the bulb was almost touching the plastic. If they were further away from the plastic I don't think it would be an issue.
