Front differential problem

just got 4:56s and a loc rite installed in my hp30. i know the ratchet sound is normal, but sometimes when i turn hard from a dead stop it makes a banging/popping sound. any idea what that could be??? and should i hear a little noise when its idling in gear? hard that is also normal but the loud sound scares me. thanks in advance

The pinion nut was coming loose on mine causing the gears to make a popping noise.
