i have a 98 4.0 auto. And it ever sincie i first bought it about a year ago, their has been a noise coming from tranny. It almost sounds like something is rubbing together, not like metal to metal though, more like plastic to metal or plastic to plastic. I was looking through the service records and it seems that the last tranny job was when the airbag thing was remounted into the tranny tunnel. it was a recall on the 99's i think?
