Looks like John Meister selling it (the pics are at his house, anyway!). John has been a jeep nut forever and a diesel guy probably even longer. Good people.

Just in case the link expires like they seem to always do...

This was a Flight line tractor model number 3 built for the military from 1980 to 1986, only 2188 were built.
They used a shorted and strengthened Grand Wagoneer frame. It currently has a 93" wheelbase using all Grand Wagoneer suspension and axles.

A CJ-10 2 door half cab (also used in Australia) and a custom and heavy metal bed and toolbox. The bed was lightened and converted to a small pickup box.

The stock factory drivetrain is a Nissan SD33 Diesel, torqueflite 727 transmission and an NP198 transfer case with
a Dana 44 df front axle and Dana 70 rear.

Replaced the axles and springs with 1987 Grand Wagoneer axles (bolted right in) with appropriate
gearing for street use (3.31), added a front drive shaft, removed the 1210 lb ballast, painted it,
replaced the truck mirrors with CJ7 style (same as used on the CJ-10 in Australia), upgraded the wipers, replaced the instrument cluster and dash plate,
added a clock, new vent cables, new battery and had the starter rebuilt. Replaced the NP198 with a Jeep NP208 and added
Warn Premium hubs for fully functional 4 wheel drive. It has a massive automatic transmission cooler. Mechanically it's perfect, does not use oil, smoke or leak. Fast glow plug controller that starts in even the coldest weather. Block heater from the factory, but not needed.

Will come with the stock steering wheel and driver's seat installed. It will come with different rims and tires than shown, they will be six lug black steel rims with newer 31x10.5" all terrain tires.

It is now a fully functional street legal 4x4 Diesel able to easily cruise I-5 at 70 mph.

Passed emissions with 1% opacity!
Has been getting 18 to 20 mpg on both Diesel and BioDiesel.
Top speed is around 80 to 85 mph. It's not quick off the line, but keeps up easily with traffic.
Around 37,000 original miles, no rust, glass is good, windows work.

The big block 727 had a shift kit installed professionally and was converted to 100% Amsoil ATF.
The engine is running on Amsoil 15w40 Marine Grade 100% Synthetic Diesel oil.
Have most of the original parts, shop manual and parts sources.

Have been driving it daily. Asking $8500. Serious inquiries only.
Please, don't make an offer without looking at it and driving it first.
