What are some symptoms of a torque converter that is about to crap out? What does it do, what does it not do? I think mine is about go but im not sure. Its a 94 motor, tranny and Tcase in a 90 xj.

Better yet, what problems are you having?

well when im driving it seems to not have much getup and go and then all of the sudden it seems like something releases and the everything goes smoothly. Also when im slowing down especially if quickly the rpms jump up when it gets to about 1000 rpms. it will jump to about 1200-1500 rpms. When I leave my house, which is on a hill. If Im going down hill. When I slow down the RPMS drop to the point of where it might stall. It doesnt stall but the rpms drop substantially.

Ok, unplug the TCU and drive it shifting manually to see if the problem persists.
