I am changing the harmonic balancer tomorrow and upon search, I came across recommendation by 5-90 that one should also change the "front main seal"

What is the name of that seal that is used in the FSM? I cannot find front main seal in the FSM and doubt that the folks at Az would know what that is.

I believe if you get a timing cover gasket set, the seal you are referring to comes with that set.....

Hey, thanks for the link. I am also changing the timing chain.

From the description it sounded that it is another seal...not sure.

As far as I know, it is the same seal...I'm doing the same thing as you - new timing set, new seal, new harmonic balancer, new chain guide....

Here is the same thing, MOPAR/OEM part number 33004681 - if you want to buy it separately. I had already gotten this thru a dealership before finding out it was included with the timing cover gasket set....

Are you changing just the chain or the gears also?

When I called NAPA, I was told that they sell the timing chain and the gears as a kit only, not what the website says tho...

Curious to know how fast the gears get worn out compared to the chain.
