Mystery Connector by temp sender

There is a 3-wire weatherpack with only two wires being used by my temp sender. It isn't connected to anything. I thought it was the crankshaft sensor at first but that one is connected. The connectors are almost identical. The wire colors are red/white and white/black.

Is that the one the air charge temp sensor plugs into. That sensor is rareley mentioned by anyone, but can cause a ton of mixture problems. It is mounted on the intake about 6 inches to the rear of the throttle body.

There was a TSB many moons ago that had dealership techs rewire the CPS directly back to the ECU and leave the original CPS plug unused. Check to see if the wires from the current CPS plug run back into the fire wall as opposed to into the engine harness with everything else. If this is the case, you've got the updated "fix" for high resistance in the CPS harness.
