Low idle, possible vacuum issue?

'89 RENIX. My jeep has started to idle at around 450-500 rpm. Jeep will sometimes dip as low as 200 rpm and has completely stalled in traffic twice. This started after i disconnected some vacuum lines so that I could replace the water-pump. Before I did the WP, my jeep idled very steady at 700 rpm. Any advice as to a common mistake I may have made when reconnecting the vacuum lines?

Thanks,

If you had a vacuum leak your idle would be HIGH.

I would pull the IAC and clean it. Use throttle body safe cleaner, not carb cleaner. A toothbrush and q-tips will help. Be gentle, it can be broken. While you have that apart, it would be a great time to clean the throttle body too. You need to clean the area where the IAC mounts, so that makes it a good excuse to do the whole thing.
