Did the 4.0 intake swap on my 95 xj, re-connected vacuum lines and now the charcoal canister is sucking vacuum from the port below the lines on the canister itself. If i put my finger over the hole it smooths out and runs fine. But right now it sounds like i punched a hole in the intake its soo loud. Do you think the canister is shot? Just replace it or should i just plug the hole that is wide open. ?

Picture below its the black little nipple just below the lines that has nothing attached to it, that black plug pulls out and weather i take the plug in or out it wont stop pulling vacuum through that hole and into the canister.

if i remove the canister, chop the lines will i get a engine light? Or worse gas mileage???

Didn't you just post a thread about this canister and how you broke it a few days ago? Replace the darn canister and be happy... it'll cost like ten or fifteen bucks at a junkyard.

EDIT: here it is http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1006369

EDIT2: oh wow, you were asking the same question in february with a different excuse? http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=984485

Just replace it. everyone has told you to, you obviously aren't getting the answer you want, stop asking, everyone else thinks you should replace it.

sorry about that, i forgot that i listed that a hile back. i had it plugged but once i installed the new intake i unlpluged it to see if it still worked. Also back then i blew the cap off, so i replaced the cap.

After replacing the cap, spring, and line it started to leak at that nipple so its a different problem now.
