Low idle and now starting issue

98 stock 4.0 XJ

Hi

I've been having a low idle issue where it would stall out whilst slowing down and making a turn and the extra load from the power steering would be enough for the engine to stall !!!!

Now i have an erratic start issue, usually it will start normally but now for the second time in a few days the engine will turn over but will not start until i put in some throttle where it will start and run but as soon as i take my foot of the throttle the engine will immediately die.

This happens 6 or 7 times before the engine will start and run normally.

Desperate for any help :helpme: , i've tried the LCD trick etc and it's not showing any fault codes.

Clean the throttle body, clean the IAC, test the TPS, then give us an update.

Be sure to use TB approved aerosol cleaner, not standard carb cleaner.
