I have a 99MJ that is mostly street driven. I trail ride, no mud usually. Mostly slow playing around. I have a 2" BB and am trying to figure out a decent shocks. I've looked at bilsteins and the price is a little much. Im trying to find something that belongs on another vehicle. I can get most any stock part at cost, so decent "high end" autopart store stuff I can get for what the "bottom end" shock price.

I was told that upcountry ZJ or WJ shocks would work but they dont list as any different compressed and extended as stock non upcountry ones.

Any ideas what would work? Nothing jeep seems to do what I want. Looking to get as much travel as possible and even looked into shock hoops, but there doesnt seem to be room to do it easily.

Also anyone know, or know where to find what the stock valving is for an XJ?
