Replacing stock height drivers side coil spring.

I need to replace the drivers side coil spring (front obviously). I have a parts Jeep that im taking another one out of. My question is: what all do i need to take apart to get the coil spring out? Any special tools? The Jeep thats getting a new spring has 2" coil spring spacers on it now. Can I swap springs with normal tools and a Jack and Jack Stands?


Btw: The Jeep needing a spring is an 87 Cherokee Laredo and the parts Jeep is an 88 Laredo, if that makes any differnce.

Find and follow some manufacturers instructions for installing either lift coil springs or coil spacers. Stock or lift springs/spacers, you follow the same steps. Buy or rent a set of coil strut compressors like these - http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=3980

look up for a lift 'how to' and just use the 'replacing front springs' part. You'll just use a stock spring rather than a lift spring or spacers.
