Mammoth Lakes Area Trails Part 2

Last year I posted pictures of trails I've been on in the Eastern Sierras.

I can't wait. I am heading to mammoth for 7 days right after Labor day. Going to explore a little, then hook up with a group to camp at Funnel lake and some where else above 11k

Ever been to Laurel Lake, just south-ish of Mammoth Junction? It's really nice up there, nice trip for an afternoon, only a few hours total.

That nice long trip to Coyote Flats is next on my list. Have you done any fishing up at funnel, rock bottom, or baker? Have you ever hiked to Thunder and Lighgting lake? If so hows the hike and fishing?

Yeah Laurel Lake is an awesome trail. I posted some picture on my previous thread I linked to.

Is there a jeep trail that goes to Duck Lake?
I've hiked to Duck Lake from Lake Mary, but I didn't realize you could get there with a 4x4.

No you cannot get there by 4x4... we hiked it

Nice trail with a good climb before you get to the lake. And there's always people there willing to share their snacks with the dags. :angel:'s
