what are the biggest downfalls to this axle? im planning on running 39" Pitbull rockers with my 95 XJ, i got a 60/10.25 to go underneath, and will be gettin 5.38's and a lincon locker, what should i look out for or upgrade when building the 10.25

i've got one in my 02 superduty with 4:88 and arb locker.... 120k on it no problems. and i BEAT on my junk and pull a 10k to 12k pound trailer on a regular basis. your xj shouldn't be a problem with it. oh i forgot.... i've got 39.5 boggers on it as well with 7.3 diesel and several mods on motor/trans. you'll be just fine!

pm rredalty i believe he had a set under his mj with 39.5" pitbull rockers...

That would be one Awesome Axle Assembly! A TSM Rear Disk Brake Conversion would be an Upgrade you may be interested in.

I guess with 39" Pitbull Rockers you needn't worry much about dragging the Diff around.
BTW: What kind of Lift Modifications are you looking at to do this?

Cool. Lowest I had seen before was 5.13. I do have one in my F250 That has 220K on it. Replaced the open diff with a truetrac about 5K miles ago. At that mileage the carrier bearing and spider gears were about shot. The carrier bearing were worn enough that backlash had moved out to about .040 rather than the .010 it should have been. It is doing fine now. Seems like a well designed axle.

You pull 12k trailers with 39.5 boggers? Don't you need atleast a 6-8 inch lift to fit them? Isn't that slightly dangerous?

*edit*- I'll add that it is dangerous when you have the trailer sitting on only the two back wheels instead of on all 3 axles. We had to alter our triple axle to ride flat with our 1999 Cummins and it rides like a dream, even with over 24k pounds behind it.

Sorry, we've been in the trailer business for many years and have seen some very dangerous combination's roll through.

gonna be using the ruffstuff disc brackets, and as far as lift goes it will be 6" with coil converion out back and 2" stretch, lots of triming, frt i will be keeping my clayton long arms as lowers and will be making a seperate upper link on the pass side for a 3link
