i've been searching for a while and haven't come up with any real answer. i was just wondering what the easiest and cheapest setup would be to install a second battery just to control my lights and stereo. thanks

Concur, but you're also going to want a higher-output alternator if you plan to use the battery much (and if you're going to use the battery much with the vehicle off, you'll want a deep cycle. Wire the acccessories you want to use with the key OFF directly to the secondary battery, and use a solid-state or a solenoid isolator to separate the two when the engine is not running.

(I can help you with system design and such - click the link in my sig for more information.)

If you can find one. There is a company who makes the exact same thing (or did). Maybe it was Mean Green. There are 2 ways i think of doing this. 1 on each side of the engine, removing the stock air box. You can also use Mean Greens' design and do a over/under mod. I would definitely get a good battery isolator. Our work trucks brake them all the time.
