Ok, so I was under the impression that the only "new" XJs that could display DTCs on the VF with the old key off-on-off-on-off-on trick were the 97 models...until today! I was reading thru my 01 FSM and ran accross this:
FROM 01 XJ FSM
"The VF display is also capable of displaying PCM
DTC’s. This feature is accessed the same as in
previous years by turning the key from “off” to “run”
three times and staying in position."
I have not seen this work. Ever. Does anyone have any XJs newer than 97 that's seen this feature work? It's allegedly still used in the new lines too, except they go from off-acc-off-acc-off-acc...
