What years had vibration problems when lifting above 2"?
My first Xj was a late 1992.
The second was a 1993.
Then i aquired the 97 that im baffled with now.
The same 5.5 RE lift HP 30, 8.25, and 231 T-case has been on the first 2 and transfered onto the 97.
Then i got the rear vibrato at 60mph.
Took it in, had the rear end looked at, and the driveshaft re-balanced.
Still doing the same thing:dunno:

Are there certain XJ'x with this problem, and what years?
Im currently pondering a 99 for 1800 bones which is an awesome deal, but dont know if i should just go back to an older year or stay away from the newer years.

No SYE?

I have a '98 with 4.5" lift. I knew I would need the SYE, but too anxious to wait, so I took it for a spin as soon as it hit the ground. The vibes were HORRIBLE!!!

After the SYE it was smoother than it was at stock.

I believe that just about all XJ's could use an SYE at anything over about 3" lift. But from what I understand it varies from truck to truck.

You might try a transmission drop to see if it helps, but that's really just a band-aid....

drop your tcase and shim your rear end. there is a very very large amount of threads on this subject.

AHA!
Yes it does have the SYE and the shims were there from the beginning.
Ive heard of the 97's and up having problems with the rear vibrato.
But mine has always been the one from the 92.

XXXXit im just going to sell it and get another one.

Anyone want to buy?
