motor swap

I have a 89 cherokee with the 4.0 inline six in it and it has almost 250k on it. Also i have a 96 grand cherokee with the 4.0 in it that the wife drives. she came in and is wanting to do this whole cash for clunkers thing and i am wanting to take the motor out of the grand cherokee and put it in the 89 cherokee. Will the wiring harness's line up in both of them? also what else would be involved?

IT will not be a direct swap. It would probably be difficult to get the grand wire harness to fit in the XJ. Adapting the motor to work with the Renix system would be the easier way.
